General praise<\/h3>
\n

\u201cWorking Together is an awesome program. I wouldn\u2019t even have considered day care otherwise, couldn\u2019t afford it. But Working Together is good, it\u2019s supportive. It\u2019s not just: here you are \u2013 go to day care. You get that support, that ongoing support. It\u2019s kind of like a team effort always.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI just think educators should get a lot of recognition for how the children are and what they\u2019re becoming because there\u2019s only so much we can do at home as parents, and they\u2019re helping us so much more to help them learn, grow and become the humans that they are now\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Making friends and socialising<\/h3>
\n

\u201cIf it wasn\u2019t for Working Together, I don\u2019t think my child would be at school. They just wouldn\u2019t cope. The anxiety was just so bad before, where now it\u2019s like, \u201cWho\u2019s this child?\u201d To see Omar* be able to go and play with other kids without being scared or anything, it\u2019s so good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growing in confidence and independence<\/h3>
\n

\u201cI think the biggest thing for my child has been that growing independence, and ability to make their own decisions. Where before they would stand next to a child in the playground and we\u2019d initiate the interaction for them, now they will run up to a child in the playground and say \u201cHi, my name\u2019s Talia\u201d. They\u2019ll initiate things.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTheir development has increased a lot. They walked straight into the centre the other day and said \u2018I\u2019m cold\u2019. They\u2019re vocalising needs now instead of just waiting for them to be met. What\u2019s helped that I think is that they give kids a decision, a say.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developing confidence and independence<\/h3>
\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been awesome. It\u2019s just how good the staff are with my child, making them comfortable and confident to come. We saw one of her educators in the supermarket last night, and I could just tell she\u2019s got a good bond with them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t be more happy than seeing my child develop into someone who\u2019s happy to make friends and isn\u2019t as shy as he used to be. He\u2019s just developed so much. He\u2019s becoming more independent and self-confident as well. Before it used to be: \u2018I\u2019m scared mum, I can\u2019t do it.\u2019 Now it\u2019s: \u2018I can do it!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Benefits for parents and carers<\/h3>

\u201cThey\u2019ve come up with goals with me, more than I had myself, and they\u2019ve helped me accomplish those goals. They\u2019ve been amazing. Getting on top of everything, sorting things out in our life with Centrelink and everything. They have more belief in me than I have in myself and have made things a lot easier.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHaving support workers and specialist professionals available and their ongoing support makes me feel as if everyone is working towards the best outcomes for all children and it\u2019s not tokenistic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
