In 2016, Children, Youth and Families commenced the Strong Families Safe Kids Implementation Plan 2016-2020<\/em> (PDF, 2.9MB)<\/a>, an ambitious long term system reform agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Strong Families Safe Kids Progress Report 2016-2020 (PDF, 1.9MB)<\/a> <\/em>and the Advice and Referral 12 Month Summary Report (PDF, 1.2MB)<\/a> <\/em>outlines key achievements delivered under Strong Families Safe Kids and the University of Tasmania Summary Evaluation Report (May 2020) (PDF, 545KB)<\/a> has helped informed our next phase of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong Families Safe Kids: Next Steps Action Plan 2021-2023 (Strong Families Safe Kids: Next Steps) (PDF, 2.2MB)<\/a><\/em> continues the journey of changing the way government and non-government services work together to shift the curve and improve the wellbeing outcomes for all Tasmanian children through a public health approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong Families Safe Kids: Next Steps will deliver 34 actions under five key priority areas of the reform agenda:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Child safety and wellbeing is everyone\u2019s business<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Building a common understanding of safety and wellbeing<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Managing the front door<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Providing better support for children and their families, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Redesigning the Child Safety Service.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

It outlines timeframes for each action and identifies the benefits that will be achieved through each action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
