This is a paid, employment-based training arrangement you&#8217;ll be in an apprenticeship while also continuing your compulsory schooling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Your school would welcome the opportunity to talk to you and the kind of work you are interested in, and how they can support and encourage your aspirations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"can-my-senior-secondary-age-child-leave-education-and-training-to-undertake-employment\">Leaving education and training to undertake employment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It\u2019s important to stay at school until you complete Year 12. All Tasmanian students must participate in education and training until they complete Year 12, attain a Certificate III, or turn 18 (whichever occurs first).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you haven\u2019t met the school leaving requirements, you must demonstrate that you have secured full-time employment using the <a href=\"https:\/\/publicdocumentcentre.education.tas.gov.au\/Documents\/Application-for-Exemption-from-Attending-SchoolForm.pdf\">Application for Exemption from Attending School (PDF, 501KB)<\/a>\u00a0before leaving education and training to undertake employment.
