The survey gives students the opportunity to share their experiences of wellbeing, engagement and learning, and to have a voice in their education.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Schools and the department use SWES data to identify strengths and areas for improvement, and to inform planning and decision-making that supports student learning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block-emphasis\">\n\t<div class=\"block-emphasis__inner\">\n        <div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2026-student-wellbeing-and-engagement-survey-swes\">2026\u202fStudent Wellbeing and Engagement Survey (SWES)\u202f&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2026 results provide a statewide snapshot of student wellbeing and engagement, and show how these experiences are changing over time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Explore the full results in the <\/strong><strong>2026 survey<\/strong><strong> include:<\/strong><strong><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"participating\">Participating<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>92%<\/strong>\u202fof students felt connected to adults in their home<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>89%<\/strong>\u202fof students felt they had good quality social support from peers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>76%<\/strong>\u202fof students reported being resilient in challenging times\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"learning\">Learning<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>95%<\/strong>\u202fof students reported they had good relationships and support from their teachers\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>8<\/strong><strong>2<\/strong><strong>%<\/strong><strong>\u202f<\/strong>of students reported that they persist with classroom tasks to support their learning\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>82%<\/strong>\u202fof students reported they persevere at tasks\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"loved-safe-and-valued\">Loved, Safe and Valued<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>90%<\/strong>\u202fof students felt connected to adults at school\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>8<\/strong><strong>8<\/strong><strong>%<\/strong>\u202fof students feel safe at school most of the time\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>75%<\/strong>\u202fof students felt that teachers and students care about each other &amp; treat each other with respect\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"material-basics\">Material Basics<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>69%<\/strong>\u202fof students reported having a good night\u2019s sleep*\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>76%<\/strong>\u202fof students reported having a nutritional breakfast* \u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>85%<\/strong>\u202fof students reported having participated in organised activities at least once a week\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*\u202f<em>based on students reporting they had a good night\u2019s sleep or ate breakfast at least three times a week<\/em>\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"healthy\">Healthy<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>81%<\/strong>\u202fof students reported being generally optimistic\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>25%<\/strong>\u202fof students reported they frequently worry about things at home and at school&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"positive-sense-of-culture-identity\">Positive sense of culture &amp; identity<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>76%<\/strong>\u202fof students feel that they belong at their school \u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>82%<\/strong>\u202fof students feel part of a group of friends and usually fit in with other students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p
