{"id":1716,"date":"2017-06-29T10:50:55","date_gmt":"2017-06-29T00:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.decyp.tas.gov.au\/?page_id=1716"},"modified":"2023-09-08T16:08:07","modified_gmt":"2023-09-08T06:08:07","slug":"inclusion-advisory-committee","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/decyp.dev.ionata.com\/th\/learning\/supporting-student-need\/educational-adjustments\/inclusion-advisory-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"Inclusion Advisory Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Inclusion Advisory Committee advises the Minister for Education, Children and Youth about the education of students with disability in Tasmania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Inclusion Advisory Committee (IAC) gives advice to the Minister for Education, Children and Youth about the education of students with disability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee is made up of people from different education sectors and organisations. They are people who are experienced in supporting learning for students with disability.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It gives advice on things like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Working with schools to become disability ready and responsive<\/li><li>Continuously improving teaching and learning through inclusive education<\/li><li>Working with communities in partnership<\/li><li>Aligning resources to inclusive education practice.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee also helps the Government understand what is important to Tasmania when big changes are being made. This includes National Reform Agenda areas like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability<\/li><li>2020 Review of the Disability Standards for Education (2005)<\/li><li>Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) Quality Assurance<\/li><li>National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) \u2013 Intersection with Education<\/li><li>Other reforms supporting inclusive education practice and students with disability.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee helps make sure we put what we learned from the <a href=\"https:\/\/documentcentre.education.tas.gov.au\/_layouts\/15\/DocIdRedir.aspx?ID=TASED-1060461114-892\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ministerial Taskforce Report 2015<\/a> (PDF, 1.24MB) into practice.
