The letter does not contain any results and does not certify achievement or attainment. The Department for Education, Children and Young People provide Principals with a list of all Year 12 students for Principals to validate that the students continue to be enrolled in Year 12. The validated data is used to centrally issue the letters in the name of the Principal and School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"why-are-principals-issuing-a-year-12-completion-letter\">Why are Principals issuing a Year 12 Completion Letter?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Education Act 2016<\/em>&nbsp;requires Principals to provide eligible students with a Year 12 Completion Certificate as formal letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The letter confirms that a student has completed the minimum school leaving requirements:&nbsp;<em>(that young people are to&nbsp;participate in education and training until they complete Year 12, attain a Certificate&nbsp;III, or turn 18 years of age (whichever occurs first).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"which-students-are-eligible-to-receive-a-year-12-completion-letter\">Which students are eligible to receive a Year 12 Completion Letter?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Year 12 Completion Letter will be&nbsp;centrally issued to students who&nbsp;have fulfilled their entitlement to thirteen years of compulsory education. Principals determine students\u2019 eligibility to receive the Letter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-does-the-year-12-completion-letter-say\">What does the Year 12 Completion Letter say?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The letter advises students that they have fulfilled their entitlement to thirteen years of compulsory education. It also informs students of the certificates and statements of results they may receive, and what action to take if they wish to further their education pathway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-does-our-school-issue-a-year-12-completion-letter\">How does our school issue a Year 12 Completion Letter?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If the student has provided their email address to the Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards, and Certification (TASC) to receive a copy of their results via email, then the Year 12 Completion Letter will be emailed to this address. If not, the letter will be emailed to either their Department for Education, Children and Young People issued email, or the email provided to the school on their enrolment or validation form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"when-is-the-year-12-completion-letter-issued\">When is the Year 12 Completion Letter issued?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The letter will be issued to students directly following the end of Year 12 exams.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-do-i-get-a-copy-of-the-completion-letter\">How do I get a copy of the Completion Letter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your school will have a copy of the Year 12 Completion Letter and will be able to re-issue this to students upon request.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a student is no longer enrolled at a school, you need to complete a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/publicdocumentcentre.education.tas.gov.au\/library\/DoE%20Form%20Library\/PIPS-Request-for-Information-Form.pdf\">Request for Information Form (PDF, 115KB)<\/a>\u00a0to access a copy of the Year 12 Completion Letter.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is a Year 12 Completion Letter?
