{"id":39586,"date":"2024-11-13T13:11:42","date_gmt":"2024-11-13T02:11:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/decyp.dev.ionata.com\/?post_type=tdh_course&#038;p=39586"},"modified":"2024-11-29T09:28:37","modified_gmt":"2024-11-28T22:28:37","slug":"school-leadership-and-management-prerequisites","status":"publish","type":"tdh_course","link":"https:\/\/decyp.dev.ionata.com\/th\/tdh-course\/school-leadership-and-management-prerequisites\/","title":{"rendered":"School Leadership and Management Prerequisites"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"course-description\">Course description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Department for Education, Children and Young People is committed to supporting our principals by equipping them with essential foundational leadership and management capabilities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new essential requirement supports candidates to meet accountabilities regarding department policies, processes and procedures associated with the role of school-based principals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Modules are delivered across four key learning areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Teaching and learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Human, financial and facilities resource management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engaging and working with the community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student and staff wellbeing for learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The modules are designed as self-paced online learning accessed via the Departments learning management system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is anticipated a candidate will require approximately 25 hours to complete the 17 self-paced learning modules online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aspiring DECYP aspiring principals can also add this learning to their plan using the instructions in this <a href=\"https:\/\/documentcentre.education.tas.gov.au\/_layouts\/15\/DocIdnRedir.aspx?ID=TASED-117787260-2957\">Quick Guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"program-outcomes\">Program outcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All candidates who seek to be appointed to the classification of school-based principal are required to complete the School Leadership and Management Prerequisite (SLMP) online modules prior to appointment and the commencement of employment from January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Merit-based recruitment and selection will apply for all school based principal vacancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates who complete some or all the School Leadership and Management Prerequisites modules are under no obligation to apply for a principal role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\"><h2 id=\"at-395860\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\">Principal Capability Framework<\/h2><div id=\"ac-395860\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cognitive\">Cognitive<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Thinks analytically to source and process information and data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"social\">Social<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creates a safe and secure environment for students and staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"personal\">Personal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is confident in ability to make a difference to teaching and learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is responsible for own professional growth and wellbeing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"knowledge-and-expertise\">Knowledge and Expertise<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Leads school management and administration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The new essential requirement supports candidates to meet accountabilities regarding department policies, processes and procedures associated with the role of school-based principals.<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":39138,"template":"","workstream":[178,180,169],"focus":[153],"location":[168],"mode":[161],"tdh_tag":[],"class_list":["post-39586","tdh_course","type-tdh_course","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","workstream-principals","workstream-school-leaders","workstream-school-or-cflc","focus-leadership","location-virtual-online","mode-self-paced"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.8.1 -
