{"id":24331,"date":"2022-09-14T16:45:01","date_gmt":"2022-09-14T06:45:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.decyp.tas.gov.au\/?page_id=24331"},"modified":"2023-09-20T17:06:09","modified_gmt":"2023-09-20T07:06:09","slug":"youth-justice-reform-in-tasmania","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/decyp.dev.ionata.com\/vi\/safe-children\/youth-justice-services\/youth-justice-reform-in-tasmania\/","title":{"rendered":"Youth justice reform in Tasmania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tasmanian Government is committed to strengthening the supports and therapeutic interventions provided to young people to prevent engagement with the youth justice system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key step towards achieving this goal is the development of the <a href=\"https:\/\/publicdocumentcentre.education.tas.gov.au\/library\/Shared%20Documents\/Youth-Justice-Blueprint.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Final Draft Youth Justice Blueprint 2022-2023 (PDF, 1.1MB)<\/a>, a multi-systemic response to youth justice in Tasmania across the next 10 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Draft Blueprint outlines our strategic direction with the aim of improving the wellbeing of children, young people and their families while addressing the underlying drivers of offending behaviours, reducing offending and improving community safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Draft Blueprint&nbsp;also includes the Government\u2019s commitment to continue the transition to a therapeutic model for custodial youth justice.
