This includes when and how to report concerns, and information about child abuse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parents and caregivers &#8211; you do not need to complete Safeguarding training unless you are volunteering or working with children other than your own.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email <a href=\"mailto:safeguardingtraining@decyp.tas.gov.au\">safeguardingtraining@decyp.tas.gov.au<\/a> if you have any questions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can learn more about what you need to do before working or volunteering with DECYP, including Registration to Work with Vulnerable People on the <a complete the Safeguarding training. This might include access to a device or to the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For further support, you or your manager can email <a href=\"mailto:safeguardingtraining@decyp.tas.gov.au\">safeguardingtraining@decyp.tas.gov.au<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"exemptions\">Exemptions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are experiencing distress from the prospect of completing Safeguarding training, you or your manager\/DECYP contact officer should reach out to the Office of Safeguarding Children and Young People on <a href=\"mailto:safeguardingtraining@decyp.tas.gov.au\">safeguardingtraining@decyp.tas.gov.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Office will discuss options with you, including the exemption process and how to best receive the training&#8217;s key messages in a way that supports your wellbeing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h2 id=\"at-408081\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\">Recognising other safeguarding certificates<\/h2><div id=\"ac-408081\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>All&nbsp;<strong>employees and relief staff<\/strong>&nbsp;must complete the DECYP <em>Mandatory Reporting Training<\/em> <strong>and <\/strong>C<em>hild Sexual Abuse Awareness Training<\/em> each year. No other training participation will be accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For&nbsp;<strong>other workers<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 DECYP may recognise current Safeguarding training certificates from:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the Tasmanian Department of Health (DoH)\/Tasmanian Health Service (THS), or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Workers seeking to have their training recognised should provide their certificate to their manager or DECYP contact officer.
