Flinders Island District High School is a government school located on Flinders Island in Bass Strait, part of the Furneaux Group off the north-east coast of Tasmania. As a District High School, we provide education for students from Kindergarten through to Year 12, supporting learners across all stages of schooling within a close-knit island community.
We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment, where strong relationships between students, staff, families and the wider community are central to our approach. Our island setting allows us to know our students well and deliver personalised learning that supports both academic progress and wellbeing.
Our dedicated staff deliver a broad and engaging curriculum with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, wellbeing and real-world learning. Flexible pathways support students to transition confidently into further education, training or employment.
We work closely with our community and maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour, supporting students to develop confidence, resilience and the skills needed for life beyond school.
