Prospect High School is a government secondary school located in the suburb of Prospect in the city of Launceston, northern Tasmania. We provide education for students from Years 7 to 12, supporting a diverse student population within a strong and inclusive learning community.
Guided by our mission, “preparing students for effective participation in the world of their time,” we are committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning in a safe, respectful and supportive environment. Strong relationships between students and staff ensure learners are well known, supported and challenged to achieve their personal best.
We offer a broad and engaging curriculum designed to meet the needs and aspirations of our students, with strengths in literacy, numeracy, the arts, hospitality, STEM and physical education. A wide range of extracurricular activities and leadership opportunities support student engagement, wellbeing and personal growth.
We maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour and work closely with families and the wider community to support student success. Through inclusive practices, quality programs and positive relationships, we aim to prepare students with the skills, confidence and resilience needed for pathways beyond school.
