Adjustments are provided to students with disability to support access to the tests and encourage maximum participation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, in some cases students may be exempted from (not have to do) one or more of the NAPLAN tests.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exemptions <strong>may<\/strong> be granted for:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>students with a language background other than English&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>students with a disability&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>students who have a parent\/carer with religious beliefs or philosophical objections to testing.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Families can speak to their child\u2019s school to discuss a proposed exemption.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schools can email\u202fnaplan@decyp.tas.gov.au to request an exemption form.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"assessment-and-reporting-tasc-modifications\">Assessment and Reporting \u2013 TASC Modifications\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tasc.tas.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification (TASC)<\/a>\u202fis an independent statutory office responsible to the Tasmanian Minister for Education, Children and Youth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TASC is responsible for the development of appropriate standards, the accreditation of courses, and the assessment and certification of student achievement in senior secondary schooling across all educational sectors in Tasmania.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Find out more at\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tasc.tas.gov.au\/providers\/students-with-special-or-additional-needs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TASC \u2013 Students with Special or Additional Needs<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adjusting assessments for students with disability&nbsp; Assessment and reporting processes must be adjusted to support the needs of students with disability, just like all other parts of teaching and learning programs.&nbsp; NAPLAN \u2013 Exemption\u00a0 All students in years 3, 5, 7 and 9 are expected to sit the NAPLAN tests.
