{"id":553,"date":"2017-06-05T09:56:02","date_gmt":"2017-06-04T23:56:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.decyp.tas.gov.au\/?page_id=553"},"modified":"2026-10-02T15:30:11","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T05:30:11","slug":"gifts-benefits-register","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/decyp.dev.ionata.com\/zh\/about-us\/policies-legislation-data\/legislation\/gifts-benefits-register\/","title":{"rendered":"Gifts, Benefits and Hospitality"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"block-emphasis\">\n\t<div class=\"block-emphasis__inner\">\n        <div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All Tasmanian State Service employees must declare any gift, benefit or hospitality that is offered to them in the course of their work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receiving such items may be seen as influencing or conflicting with the government service we provide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpac.tas.gov.au\/__data\/assets\/pdf_file\/0026\/507464\/Whole-Government-Gifts-Benefits-Hospitality-Policy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tasmanian State Service policy on gifts, benefits and hospitality (PDF, 334KB)<\/a> applies to all DECYP officers and employees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact <a href=\"mailto:people.policy@decyp.tas.gov.au\">people.policy@decyp.tas.gov.au<\/a> if you would like more specific advice on the giving or receiving of gifts, benefits and hospitality within DECYP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The department\u2019s Gifts, Benefits and Hospitality Register is updated quarterly and can be found below.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Tasmanian Government is committed to the highest standards of integrity, impartiality, transparency and the responsible use of resources from all state service officers and employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpac.tas.gov.au\/divisions\/ssmo\/employment_policy\/whole_of_government_gifts_benefits_and_hospitality\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpac.tas.gov.au\/__data\/assets\/pdf_file\/0026\/507464\/Whole-Government-Gifts-Benefits-Hospitality-Policy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tasmanian State Service policy on gifts, benefits and hospitality (PDF, 334KB)<\/a> and applies to all DECYP officers and employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the policy, with very few exceptions (for example cultural gifts), only token mementos or modest refreshments can be accepted without prior approval or declaration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officers and employees should not expect to receive gifts; benefits; or hospitality; for doing a job they are paid for by the public to do. In most instances, a simple \u2018thanks\u2019 is enough. We\u2019d appreciate it!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where the employee believes there are exceptional circumstances they must declare the gift it must be declared and pre-approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The policy also requires that where the value of an accepted gift is estimated at $100 or higher it must be published in the Gifts, Benefits and Hospitality Register on the department\u2019s public website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"information-for-suppliers\">Information for Suppliers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Suppliers must not seek to influence Tasmanian Government representatives by making payments, providing favours, gifts, entertainment or other acts which could be construed as special treatment.
