{"id":9462,"date":"2019-08-09T13:17:09","date_gmt":"2019-08-09T03:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.decyp.tas.gov.au\/?page_id=9462"},"modified":"2024-05-01T10:12:19","modified_gmt":"2024-05-01T00:12:19","slug":"tasmanian-quality-standards-kindergarten","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/decyp.dev.ionata.com\/zh\/about-us\/strategies-and-frameworks\/tasmanian-quality-standards-kindergarten\/","title":{"rendered":"Tasmanian Quality Standards Kindergarten (TQSK)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"background\">Background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A high-quality early years Kindergarten program is vital for children\u2019s learning, development and wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Tasmanian Quality Standards has been adapted from the National Quality Standard (NQS) and is a similar model implemented in Western Australian schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The TQSK promotes quality practices and continuous improvement through the 7 quality areas of the TQS. The quality areas are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Educational program and practice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children\u2019s health and safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physical environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Staffing arrangements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relationships with children<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborative partnerships with families and communities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Governance and leadership<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of the Tasmanian Quality Standards Kindergarten initiative is to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>improve educational and developmental outcomes for children<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>promote continuous improvement in teaching, leading and learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>improve the protection, safety and wellbeing of children<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>build on whole school quality improvement plans<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>develop a school wide culture of continuous improvement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"resources\">Resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tasmanian Quality Standards Kindergarten Guide and Reflection and Self-Assessment Tool have been developed to assist schools implement the TQSK initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The TQSK Guide and Reflection and Self-Assessment Tool will assist Kindergarten teachers and school leaders to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>build an understanding of the Tasmanian Quality Standards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>improve quality, teaching and learning in the early years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For further information please contact the Early Learning Team\u00a0 &#8211; <a href=\"mailto:early.learning@decyp.tas.gov.au\">early.learning@decyp.tas.gov.au<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"useful-links\">Useful links<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/james.leighton\/Downloads\/Years%20Framework%20|%20Australian%20Children\u2019s%20Education%20and%20Care%20Quality%20Authority\">Early Years Learning Framework for Australia | Australian Children\u2019s Education and Care Authority<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background A high-quality early years Kindergarten program is vital for children\u2019s learning, development and wellbeing.
