New scholarships offered by the Tasmanian Government will create secure employment pathways for speech and language pathology students with the Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP).
The scholarship program creates permanent jobs for the next generation of speech and language pathologists in Tasmania and bolsters our vitally important professional support staff workforce.
Speech and language pathologists in Tasmanian Government schools play a crucial role in supporting students’ communication skills, development and educational outcomes.
The program offers scholarships to speech pathology students who are currently enrolled in their final year of an accredited speech pathology entry to practice program at an Australian university and expect to complete all requirements of their course by March 2024.
Eligible students are encouraged to apply for a permanent graduate speech and language pathologist position advertised on the Jobs Tasmania website. The advertisement will provide an opportunity to apply for the scholarship.
Successful applicants will be provided with $25,000 across their scholarship term to contribute towards university course costs.
Graduate speech and language pathologist job applications are now open, closing on Sunday 15 October 2023.
For more information including eligibility requirements, visit the DECYP website.
