Access the training

You can sign up with any email address. It does not need to be your DECYP email address. You will need to enter a security key relevant to your worksite. These are listed below:

  • Schools and CFLCs – DECYP1
  • Libraries and Corporate – DECYP2
  • Children and Families – DECYP3
  • AYDC – DECYP4

DECYP relief staff must complete the following training modules each year:

  • Mandatory Reporting Training
  • Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Training

Each module takes about 30 minutes to complete.

Relief staff can access the Safeguarding Training modules from 28 January. You do not need to have a DECYP account to complete the training.

Certificates are valid until March 2026.

You must also acknowledge that you have read and understood DECYP’s Conduct and Behaviour Policy and Conduct Standards.

Training expectations

Once you have completed the training, you must provide your certificates to your DECYP contact officer or manager. You must also provide them with any other pre-employment checks like Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP).

There is no separate ‘Safeguarding Training’ budget for relief staff to be paid.
